Spartacus is nowhere to be seen!

I just had to do a quick post about these beauts.  The Tom Ford gladiator heel.  Seen here on Rihanna and on Jennifer Lopez for the cover of Februarys' Bazaar.
I personally love them, they scream fashion drama to me and I love a little fashion drama but I would suggest that you don't wear them in strong sun light especially if you are fair as the tan lines from these could be a night mare!
Enjoy your shoegasm.

Gold Tom Ford Gladiator heels.

Rihanna instagramed a photo in the Tom Ford Gladiator recently.  She can defiantly rock pretty much anything!

Jennifer Lopez in Tom Ford Gladiator for Bazaar cover looking like a super hero.
What do you think?  Would you wear them? Or do you think they're way to much?

Lets do this!

Hey beautiful people!  I have spent the last couple of months plugging away at various things in a different directions .  It's all very new and exciting and daunting also but you have to try right?  So as it is all about change and new things I thought to myself "lets to this!" and I booked myself up for a half marathon.  Am I actually crazy? And not in the "she's so crazy" way.  In the WHAT THE HELL way.  The most I had run before I signed myself up was approximately 2.60 miles. A half marathon as you will know is 13 miles.  I have a long way to go!  Thank goodness for the internet and friends giving me the information I need to become a better and faster runner.  I only have to add 10 more miles to my best.

So being the person I am half marathon training obviously means new sports wear!  I must say I didn't go over board just a new pair of running shoes and a few high impact sport bras.  I mean it's an investment right?
The catalyst for me signing up for something so drastic and so not me was going to support a friend who was competing in the Miami Pro competition.  For those of you that have never heard of it it is a body beautiful comp where competitors train for months at a time on pretty much each individual muscle in their body.  This takes extreme dedication, maximum weight training and a strict diet and I was so impressed.  I personally wouldn't want my body to be as muscly as most of the women in the competition so I sought out a different challenge that would push me in a different way.

Along with the start of my training I have decided to eat as clean as possible.  This takes quite a lot of planning especially if you will be away from home.  It's so easy to grab something out and about but generally the content is so far off clean eating it is astounding.   The weekend is the most testing when a bottle of wine is thrush into my world and then all clean goes out of the window and beautiful burgers fly in in its place but no ones perfect.

Anyway this is just a quick post as I have to go and do some squats!  It's all so addictive.
Check out the pics.
Nike Free 5.0  These bad boys will get me across that finish line and if not my feet will look great.
The boys at Miami Pro strutting their stuff.

Close up, one for the ladies!

Clean eating mixing an old and new school diet.  Tilapia, rice and peas, asparagus and beetroot.

Preparing a clean lunch.  Sweet potato wedges to be roasted,  mushroom  stir fry.

Friday night trying to stay clean with these gorgeous teas at Ping Pong (didn't really work)

 Shall keep you all posted.

The Boy friend jean

Ladies! You guys to as this affects you to if you have a great girl in your life, you may want to hide your favourite jeans.  If like me you have a thing for jeans but find it one of the most time consuming and frustrating clothe shops you have ever done we can be jean happy again.  What is she waffling on about you're thinking? The Boyfriend jean that's what! I have always been a lover of the baggy jean.  Being a 90's teen we had the likes of Maharishi and jungle pants (I know shame) so the love of comfort and fashion coexisting never left me.  The boyfriend jean doesn't have to fit perfectly on the bottom or elongate the leg or stop just before the top of a boot or the floor, it can just be.  They are great!

I have been wearing the Boyfriend jean for years.  My first official pair from a lovely chap I used to go out with who put on a few pounds, thus me inheriting his Levi's twisters and they are till this day my favourites.  Then came the Fake London jeans that are now a cute pair of casual cut offs.  Next a pair from my father of which I chopped and happily wore for years without him knowing (sorry dad).
I can not be happier with the current fascination with this style.  Of course they are a little different with a  tapered hem and a general crop. This new style looks great with a heel to!

Feast your eyes and happy shopping whatever your budget you'll find a pair to suit you.

Ex bf Levi's twister jeans teamed with Zara chelsea boot. Still my favs.

Thanks dad! Teamed with Dr Martens 10 hole boots.

New purchase from Zara £29.99 teamed with a patent court shoe from Dune .

Pit stop in Amsterdam

I made a quick trip to Amsterdam this week and I think I've fallen in love with the place.  The quaint streets and canals, the bikes(when you can see them coming), the boutiques and all the cool looking people who all look like artistes.  My idea of Amsterdam is obviously eveything I have seen in the media.  Although I have worked there a couple of times I never got the chance to stroll around the city and just take it in I usually just see the inside of my hotel and some club or bar so it was so nice to do.  The flight over will live up to all of your ideas on the place as in stag dos and barely adult folk on the hunt for those "cafe's"but unless that is your aim the vibe of the city is totally different.  The flight home was amusing, very jolly guys(drunk) and super chilled out young men(stoned).
Here are a few shots. I will definitely go back and do some damage in the boutiques!

Paid €1 to use the lav in here. You then get 50 cent off anything instore.

Oh Darling

I feel like I'm leading such an enchanted life at the moment.  Don't get me wrong I do not have  the house in Malibu over looking the ocean or two point four family with a super hot actor type husband doting on my average cupcakes and I can't just walk into Jimmy Choo and buy those oh so coveted boots I saw in Vouge this month but I feel I have it all at this moment in time.
Being a girl about town can give you this feeling.  I have been ever so cultured in the last week.  Dinner with the fashion, journo, creative, lawyer set.  The Coliseum for first night at the Opera .  Exhibitions, plays mingling with all types of thespians and of course finding the ultimate ankle/sandal boot spring summer wears.

The dinner Si Mangia http://www.simangia.co.uk/ in East Dulwich . The cutest Italian was very busy and with our table for 12 had a very bubbly atmosphere.  The food delicious and very reasonable.  The service was great with staff getting involved in some of the tables jokes altogether an enjoyable night would definitely recommend and on a Thursday they have live music so I shall definitely be going back.
Mussels, my fav.

The girls

So after performing in my first Opera last year I realised I can so do classical music!  This is coming from an inner city drum and bass, 90's R'n'B loving chick.  Where best to pop my opera cherry than the English National Opera.  The opera La Traviata, its first night.  The venue, The Coliseum St Martins Lane.
The story is of a fallen woman s (la traviata) love and sacrifice as is all things in the theatre right?  The leading lady Violetta played by Corinne Winters was amazing as was Ben Johnson who played Alfredo.  I must say the set was super minimal with just sheer curtains a chair and a pile of books for us to feast our eyes on but it worked, even when the leads were pulling the metaphoric  curtain along the stage just to confuse us.  It being in English was nice but I would have preferred Italian or french as I find these much more romantic and for all of you who feel you have no connection with this particular opera it's the one Richard Gere takes Julia Roberts to see in Pretty woman!
Violetta and Alfredo
Seats were a little bit nose bleedy
The Play. Feast.  Most definitely the best play I've seen.  My explanation will do it no justice so have a watch of the trailer http://bit.ly/11PAQXF   .  It's on at The Young Vic.  I had a bite to eat at The Cut the restaurant downstairs  first then watched the play tickets courtesy of a dear friend.  After  were drinks and a chance to talk with the actors with live music in the background and a sly bit of celeb spotting.

The boots.  Topshop.  I'll leave you with them.  32A95DBLK_large.jp

Nearly made it!

Hey fabulous people!  We have nearly made it through the month of January!  I say this as most people find this month pretty hard going from the 5 week month to the weather and lack of festivities there were in December.  Fear not if you are struggling as next week heralds the beautiful month of February and we can all truly get stuck in to 2013.
For me this is the first January I have had off in years so it seemed only fitting to make the most of this time and truly chill, socialise, yogi it up and of course do a little shop.

I am totally loving the monochrome coming through for the spring.  We have seen a lot of this in the past but this time around we have plethora of thick stripes.  Check out this Asos take on the trend http://www.asos.com/Fashion-Online-9/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=13506&via=top .

Prada SS13 manages to do monochrome and colour block fabulously with a flower detail that is seen through the range.  I am in total love with this dress and have always been a big fan of heels and socks.

For my take on monochrome I have opted for one of my favourites polka dots, large ones.  The pyjama look from the catwalks last year really caught my eye as the idea of looking chic and being comfortable totally appeals to me.  For good measures I have popped a little neon in there to as I will always be a fan.

Shirt, trousers and shoes Trends at H&M. Clutch American Apparel.
Along with most of the country I started my new year with healthy regime, for me this meant Hot Yoga.  I have frequented the Breeze establishment in Beckenham for over a year and decided to take advantage of their £40 for two weeks unlimited use to try some new classes.  My favourites being Hot Forrest yoga and hot Ballet concentrating on the core and legs and bums.  Now as it's a new year and on account of me being open to all things this year I thought I'd try a 12 hour Gong bath at said establishment.  What is this you may ask, well here's a break down.
Mercury/Chiron Gong Bath
- Kundalini Yoga in the hot studio
- Shower and break to refresh
- Yogic sleep

- Sedna Gong bath
- Chanting
- Deep relaxation
- Earth Gong
- Sun Gong at the exact time of the Leo Full Moon

From 2am, Gong baths and the opportunity to sleep if needed.
Now being a natural skeptic I was dubious but decided to go for it anyway.  I came out relaxed but a little confused and disappointed I didn't have a huge epiphany(I expect to have one a week)  but after a nap at home felt very refreshed and ready for the rest of my week.  The guys running the evening were great.  Mark who talked us through the evening and played the Gong a bearded yogi with salt and pepper hair and a cockney twang and Anna the softly spoken yoga teacher who put us through out paces.  Who knows if any deep changes have happen within but no matter as I had fun and did something new.  Would definitely recommend if you want 12 hours to yourself and enjoy yoga!

A Big Ball of Dancers

Well hello beautiful people and Merry Christmas!

This post is solely dedicated to the Dancers Christmas Ball.  It's been a few years since the last one but the organisers definitely made up for this with a beautiful venue and great entertainment.  The charity this year is Macmillan Cancer support which I'm sure everyone of us can somehow relate to or knows some one that can .  I do not know the final numbers yet but I have a feeling the dancers of London did them proud.

Here are a few shots from the night.  I didn't get to snap  everyone and I missed a few amazing dresses and outfits due to timing and being overwhelmed by gorgeousness.  Feel free to send me pics Mandy Lidell, Leanne Hainsby, Jazzy and Claire Meehan and that dude in the multicoloured sequin jacket. I saw I loved but alas I didn't snap.
